I had another absolutely pointless argument with someone about my beliefs. It baffles me when complete strangers try to tell someone else what they believe, without knowing a thing about the person they're speaking to.

Anyway, by the end of it I ignored the prick and the last message that came through asked if I am incapable of admitting that I'm wrong. That in turn inspired this. I can--and have on many occasions--stated claim to my faults both online and off. I'm not perfect, I'd never pretend to be. I am educated though and pride myself on the knowledge I have gained. Some shmuck coming along trying to tell me things are this way and not that is not grounds for me to alter my thought process. Or admit any faults. That means nothing. It's just opinion's and not fact.

If ever you get into a debate or argument with me, give me valid, unarguable proof that you're right and I'm wrong and I will accept that and consider it gained knowledge. Throwing out biased news articles and pseudo-facts is not going to lead me to believe anything you have to say. However, I will read what you choose to share with me for the sake of potentially gaining knowledge.

There is a point where you have to stop, though. If no one will budge from their position, then the argument needs to be laid to rest. Things that typically end in this manner are the ever-controversial topics of religion and politics. There is really no sound proof or evidence to support either of these things. Everything will always be opinion based on these topics. That's why a lot of people consider them to be taboo.

Personally, I don't care what anyone else chooses to believe. That's their choice. In the same respect, I don't want anyone trying to tell me what I believe. I doubt anyone really welcomes that kind of behavior. It's completely presumptuous and rude to go about telling someone that they believe this and not that.
