This is my dress from Mario's Graduation Reception. It wasn't anything fantastic, but it showed the new military men and women what they have to suspect as officers. Those of us who have military background have already attended balls and such so it wasn't anything new to us. Still, a great reason to play dress up!
This was the best of four photo's ~KombatMario took of me at the end of the night. It was mostly to share with my mother, but I thought I'd share it with all of you as well. Enjoy!

*The kitty-face signature used in my photography is a design created by me years ago. On more than one occasion I attempted to make a digital version of this signature and failed. Fortunately for me I befriended the talented *LazyGunn and he created a digital version of my signature using a photograph of one of my signed literary pieces.
Yep... you two will be expected to host at times. Starts off small as a leutenant or wobbley-1, peers over for dinner, wine & cheese, etc... then as he gains rank it becomes more elaborate. Field grades actually receive an allowance for entertaining (unless that has changed...) You will be expected to be active within the O club I'm sure... things like that never change. Far as kissing butt goes, naw... although you will probably find yourself having to humor and tolerate some type A personalities.
Being a former troopie, you know the hardships enlisted families face. That will provide you with far better insight than many gals who marry into the service and will make you invaluable to the chain of concern (or whatever they call that sort of thing these days.)
Well I'm not sure just how elaborate all of it will be, but I'm sure I'll be able to handle it. I always got along with the officers more than the enlisted and I love dressing up for the big events. Plus I'm a total charmer. haha
Looking great there kiddo. Always stay aware that you now are part of a leadership team and his future success depends as much on your bearing and actions as his own. While he might not be the "old man" of his unit anytime soon, the rest of the enlisted wives are going to be looking your way for guidance and support.
Yea, fortunately I know a little something about the military so the transition should be smooth for us. I'm not sure how much I'm looking forward to "tea party's" though. Apparently that happens as an officers wife? Someone told me.
It's ok, I'm a likable person. But I refuse to literally kiss anyone's ass for any reason. I'll be respectful and polite, but I will not pucker my lips. Anyway, it's going to be an adjustment for sure. I always got along great with officers so I think I'll be OK.

haha I completely understand. For years I'd never even consider wearing a dress, just this past year and a half or so I've started to buy them. I've got a vicious scar from a reconstruction surgery on my left knee, it's not all that bad now, but kept me from wearing dresses/skirts/shorts since the surgery.
My day to day wardrobe is typically jeans and a T, but for these big events dresses/gowns are a must for women. The sacrifices I make for my husband. Not like I don't enjoy dolling myself up and getting tons of compliments that inflate my head/ego.
no not me i still wear pants for speical events but they are kind of dressier. but freakin cant stand wearing dresses.
hope you knee is all better!!!!!
